ur Homeward Bound Rehab & Sub-Acute Unit provides the care needed by patients discharged from a hospital but not yet ready to take complete care of themselves. Here, they receive medical and skilled nursing care along with physical and occupational therapy, audiological services, speech therapy and more.

Our Homeward Bound Unit assists patients recovering from orthopedic surgery, such as knee or hip replacement, as well as those recovering from strokes and other neurological disorders. The unit provides post-surgical care, wound care, pain management, and IV therapy along with nutritional counseling and restorative rehabilitation.

Our Homeward Bound Unit has the most advanced therapeutic equipment designed to speed patient recovery. A computerized Cervical/Lumbar Unit helps to relieve radiating pain caused by compression of the discs of the spine. A Tilt Table aids patients whose blood pressure level falls too quickly when sitting or standing. A Continuous Passive Motion Machine (CPM) helps patients increase the range of movement in a knee after total knee replacement.

For stroke patients, a Biofeedback Unit helps patients regain WCMCCmovement and strength through visual and auditory stimulus. Another unit, resembling an ordinary PC, is a computerized Biometric Unit that helps a patients increase arm and hand movement and strength through specially created "computer games."

A functional kitchen, complete with cabinets, stove, sink, washer and dryer, and refrigerator enables occupational therapists to teach wheelchair-bound and stroke patients how to function at home.

Patients in the Homeward Bound Unit are completely sepWCMCCarated from the skilled nursing portion of the facility. They reside in tastefully decorated private and semi-private carpeted rooms equipped with telephone, cable television, individually controlled air conditioning and hookup for computers. Homeward Bound patients are served meals in the Homeward Bound Dining Room.

Medicare covers physician ordered therapy at Homeward Bound for a period up to 100 days.
